The story starts with good news: an invitation. The kitty sits at a small round table and opens a card decorated with a birthday cake and balloons, the envelope lying beside it. A small wrapped box and a pot of flowers sit on the table, a framed picture and plants decorate the shelf, and a big window looks out on the garden. A calm first page with big, easy shapes.
Printing and coloring tips
Print at 100% on Letter or A4. Plain 80–100 gsm copy paper is fine for crayons and colored pencils; for markers, use thicker paper or put a scrap sheet underneath so the ink doesn't bleed through. Detailed scenes like this one are easier with fine-tip markers or sharpened pencils.
Ideas for this page
- Color the invitation brightly — it is the most exciting thing on the page.
- Make a real invitation for a pretend party with your kids.
