Paper Squishy Templates
Free printable paper squishy templates in color and black and white, each with a one-page instruction sheet. Print, tape, cut, stuff and squeeze.
What is a paper squishy?
A paper squishy is a soft toy made from two printed pieces of paper: you cover them with clear tape, cut them out, tape the edges together and fill the pocket with a little stuffing. It costs nothing but paper and tape, and the finished piece really does squish.
Every template here has a front and a back drawn to match, a dashed cut line with a white border for the tape, and a 2 cm guide line so you can check the print size.
Color or black and white
Each design comes as three PDFs: a color template, a black-and-white version to color in, and an instruction sheet. The coloring version works on any printer and lets kids choose their own colors before they tape it.
All templates print at 100% on US Letter or A4. Finished squishies are about 10–12 cm (4–5 inches) tall.
Questions
What do I need to make a paper squishy?
A printer, plain paper, wide clear packing tape, scissors and something soft for the filling: cotton balls, pillow stuffing, or scrunched-up tissue or plastic bags.
What age are paper squishies for?
Kids from about 6 can make one with a little help; from 8 most do it alone. Younger kids enjoy coloring the template while an adult does the taping and cutting.
Do I need a laminator?
No. Clear packing tape does the same job and makes the surface smooth and shiny.
