Pages in this set

These are the yellow paper duck coloring pages: the duck and all six of its wardrobes as black-and-white line art. Every wardrobe has two pages — page 1 with the duck and the first outfits, page 2 with more clothes — so there are twelve pages to color in all: Play Day, School & Play, Cozy Everyday, Summer, Autumn and Winter.

Each page is printed at the same size as our yellow paper duck paper doll, so once the clothes are colored and cut out, they fit the duck. Kids get two activities in one: a coloring page first, then a dress-up toy. Every page also shows a coloring idea in bright colors, but the patterns on the clothes are left blank on purpose — stripes, dots, flowers or hearts are up to whoever holds the markers.

How to color and dress the duck

  1. Print a page at 100% (“actual size”) on Letter or A4. Light cardstock keeps the duck stiff after cutting.
  2. Color the duck and the clothes. Leave the white tabs white so they are easy to find.
  3. Cut out each piece along the outline, keeping the tabs.
  4. Dress the duck: lay an outfit on top and fold the tabs behind it.

Tips for classrooms

One wardrobe (two pages) makes a calm 30–45 minute activity. Give each child page 1 first; early finishers take page 2. Envelopes or zip bags keep every child’s clothes together. Prefer to skip the coloring? The full-color version of the same wardrobes is in the yellow paper duck paper doll post.

Questions

Is there a color version of these pages?

Yes — the same wardrobes in full color are in our yellow paper duck paper doll post, ready to cut out without coloring. These black-and-white pages are for kids who want to color the clothes themselves.

Do the colored clothes still fit the duck?

Yes. The coloring pages are printed at exactly the same size as the color version, so after coloring, the clothes on page 2 fit the duck on page 1 of the same wardrobe.

What paper should I print on?

Plain 80–100 gsm paper is fine for crayons and pencils. For markers, or if you want the duck to stand up after cutting, use light cardstock (65 lb / 176 gsm).
