Strawberries need a little care before picking. The kitty kneels in the strawberry patch, pulling weeds and tucking straw under the plants so the berries stay clean. A basket full of straw and a trowel sit nearby, the first ripe berries hang from the leaves, and a bird sits on the fence by the shed. The big strawberry leaves are fun to color in different greens.
Printing and coloring tips
Print at 100% on Letter or A4. Plain 80–100 gsm copy paper is fine for crayons and colored pencils; for markers, use thicker paper or put a scrap sheet underneath so the ink doesn't bleed through. Detailed scenes like this one are easier with fine-tip markers or sharpened pencils.
Ideas for this page
- Color the strawberries red with tiny yellow dots for the seeds.
- Explain why gardeners put straw under strawberries: to keep the berries off the soil.
Questions
