Pages in this set

Part 2 of Garden to Jar is harvest time. The garden the kitty planted in Part 1 is now full of food: the kitty rests among the flowers, weeds the strawberry patch, pulls carrots and picks tomatoes and cucumbers, fills a basket with berries, picks apples and pears and finally washes the whole harvest in the kitchen sink.

Great for learning fruit and vegetable names

Each page has big, clear fruits and vegetables — carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, strawberries, apples, pears — which makes these pages perfect for preschool and kindergarten lessons about healthy food. Kids name each item while they color it.

Ideas for using these pages

  • Name and color: point to each fruit or vegetable, say its name, then color it.
  • Real-food tie-in: after coloring, wash and taste the same fruit together.
  • Sort it: color fruits one color family and vegetables another, then talk about the difference.

Each page has its own download. Complete Part 2 has the cover and all six pages in one file.
