Boat Trip Wardrobe — Bear & Outfits — colored example of the coloring page in bright colors

One way to color it, in bright marker colors. Yours can look completely different: stripes, polka dots, your favorite colors. Color the doll and the clothes, then cut them out along the outline, keep the white tabs and dress the doll.

About this coloring page

This coloring page has the paper bear and a cream sailor dress with a red neckerchief, a striped top with red shorts and a rope belt, a navy pinafore over a striped blouse, a yellow raincoat with an anchor, a sailor hat, a red polka-dot headscarf, a striped tote and binoculars — all as black-and-white line art with the white fold-over tabs. It is page 1 of the Boat Trip Wardrobe; page 2 has six more pieces drawn to the same scale. Color the bear and the outfits, cut along the outlines and the page becomes a teddy bear paper doll.

Printing and coloring tips

Print at 100% on Letter or A4. Plain 80–100 gsm copy paper is fine for crayons and colored pencils; for markers, use thicker paper or put a scrap sheet underneath so the ink doesn't bleed through. Detailed scenes like this one are easier with fine-tip markers or sharpened pencils.

Ideas for this page

  • Make a paper boat from a sheet of blue paper and take the bear sailing on the table.
  • Felt-tip markers give the brightest colors; put a scrap sheet underneath so they do not bleed through.
  • Colored pencils are best for the bear itself: short strokes for the fur, a darker shade for the paws and ears.

Questions

Do I need page 2 as well?

Not to color this page — it has the bear and the first outfits. Page 2 of the Boat Trip Wardrobe adds more clothes for the same bear.
