The treasure! The kitty lifts the lid of the chest and it is full of seashells, a big starfish, a conch and sparkling gems. The sea turtle, the crab and the parrot gather around, and the beach, palm trees and smiling sun fill the background. The treasure turns out to be the island's own treasures — a nice idea to talk about with kids.
Printing and coloring tips
Print at 100% on Letter or A4. Plain 80–100 gsm copy paper is fine for crayons and colored pencils; for markers, use thicker paper or put a scrap sheet underneath so the ink doesn't bleed through. Detailed scenes like this one are easier with fine-tip markers or sharpened pencils.
Ideas for this page
- Use gold, purple and turquoise for the gems, and pastels for the shells.
- Ask kids what treasure they would hope to find in a chest.
