View allAbout this coloring page
The kitty goes shopping at an outdoor farmers market. Under a striped awning there are crates of carrots with leafy tops, baskets of apples and corn, and a wooden box full of pumpkins in the front. The kitty carries a woven basket already filled with corn and apples, and leaves drift across the ground. It is one of the busiest pages in the book, so it works well for kids who like lots of small shapes.
Printing and coloring tips
Print at 100% on Letter or A4. Plain 80–100 gsm copy paper is fine for crayons and colored pencils; for markers, use thicker paper or put a scrap sheet underneath so the ink doesn't bleed through. Detailed scenes like this one are easier with fine-tip markers or sharpened pencils.
Ideas for this page
- Make it a sorting game: color all the fruit red and yellow and all the vegetables orange and green.
- Give the awning stripes two alternating colors — it makes the whole page pop.
Questions
Is this page too detailed for preschoolers?
It has more small shapes than the others. Preschoolers usually color the kitty, the big pumpkins and the carrots and leave the rest — that still looks great.
