How to print: print both pages at 100% ("actual size") on Letter or A4, so the clothes fit the doll. Cardstock (65 lb / 176 gsm) keeps the doll standing; clothes are fine on regular paper.
Black & white version — color it yourself

The same doll and clothes as black-and-white line art, all 2 pages: color the outfits in any pattern you like, then cut them out and dress the doll exactly like the color version. Same size, same tabs — and it works on any printer.

Page 2 comes in the same PDF as the doll, so one download gives you both. Every piece is drawn to the same scale and fits the doll on page 1: cut around the outline, keep the white tabs and fold them behind the doll.

Page 1 has the bear, a cream sailor dress with a red neckerchief, a striped top with red shorts and a rope belt, a navy pinafore over a striped blouse, a yellow raincoat with an anchor, a sailor hat, a red polka-dot headscarf, a striped tote and binoculars. Page 2 adds a light blue sailor dress, a red striped top with navy shorts, a cream cardigan with a red skirt, a mint jacket with cream shorts, a navy sailor dress and an orange life vest over a striped top.
How to make it
Print both pages at 100%. Cut out the doll first and glue it onto a piece of cereal-box card if you printed on plain paper. Cut out each outfit along its outline, keeping the white tabs; put it on the doll and fold the tabs behind the shoulders and sides. Store the clothes in an envelope or a zip bag so nothing gets lost.
Ideas for this page
- Make a paper boat from a sheet of blue paper and take the bear sailing on the table.
- Navy, red and white are easy colors for the coloring version — good for younger kids.
- Mix with the boy bear's Sailor Wardrobe for a matching crew.
Questions
Why a life vest?
Because every good sailor wears one! It is a nice way to talk about water safety before a summer trip.
